Kindle DX Graphite: Commands made Easy (I)

The Turn Wireless On command is very simple all you have to do is press the stub cube in the lower right hand side of the Kindle DX Graphite and the wireless will be turned on. I’m pretty forgetful, I can remember faces, buildings and well-traveled roads, but once I put something in a file, draw or box my brain immediately forgets all about it. Therefore, the “View Archived Items” of the Kindle DX Graphite is absolutely wonderful to possess. Press the stub cube down and your archived items will appear in a list that shows both the title and the author.

Say Hello to the Kindle DX

If you wish to access them press the cube again and you will be asked whether you wish to turn your wireless on. If you have other device collections on your Kindle DX Graphite you can access them here as well. The “Search” command takes you to a page with a Search box for you to type into and below this are a number of other boxes telling you where you can search e.g. your items, Kindle store, Google, dictionary, Wikipedia or just go to the web. Just type in whatever you are looking for on your keyboard and then indicate on the box where you wish to look. Here I have a little problem, because the size of the keys is difficult for me to use and the lettering difficult to see. Also after time, wear and tear tends to soften the crispness of the light grey against the darker grey background of the Kindle DX Graphite making it extremely difficult to see the minute letters.

To create a new collection you just press that cute cube in the lower left hand corner of your Kindle DX Graphite and a box will appear on the front page of your item list asking you to enter the new collection name. If you want to use a symbol as well don’t forget to press the “SYM” key at the extreme bottom left hand side of the Kindle DX Graphite keyboard.  Sync and Check for Items will need you to turn the wireless on before you can proceed. As for Settings, this is the one that we all need to go to first. Make sure you register, so that you are the purchaser in the Kindle store and no one else using your machine. Actually, it would be quite difficult for someone else to use your device without you knowing it as your avatar name is clearly seen on the upper left hand corner of your device. But yes, I know we all get complacent and tend to no longer look at the information that has been designed to be seen by us to protect our Kindle DX Graphite from another user.
