New Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight : Kindle Touch’s Real Rival.

Wow, no one will win this game. It is only depended on when users are ready to buy and it does not mean that the ebook reader device they bought it is a good one. There will always be a better and more advanced device waiting for you after you just bought the latest one. For some who just bought Kindle Touch Wi-Fi $139 ( without special offers) may feel disappointed with the latest new version of Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch which added LED light based Glowlight to its eReader and sells at the same price at $139.

But what could be an advantage of Nook Simple Touch Glowlight is, as you can see, the built-in LED light. In case of Kindle Touch, you have to buy it separately which means more weight to carry. Nook Simple Touch Glowlight is set apart and stand out from other e Ink reader because of this point. No an annoying overhead clip on light or external light. This also makes new Nook Simple Touch Glowlight becomes a perfect e-Ink eReader device before bedtime.

Look at some features in comparison to Kindle Touch, Nook Simple Touch Glowlight’s dimension is 6.5 x 5 inch remain unchanged since last year but the difference is Nook Simple Touch Glowlight’s weight at 6.975  ounces is lighter than Kindle Touch’s 7.5 ounces.

The perfect size of Nook Simple Touch Glowlight is even more comfortable to read in bed than holding iPad 2. Simply presses the physical Nook “N” button and then you get the light on. The quality of the light is well spread, readable and comfortable to eyes, probably better than reading on iPad’s screen because of the Nook’s screen size and e-ink technology.

Battery lift is another concern here. New Nook with Glowlight could run for 60 continuous hours according the Barnes & Noble and for 30 days with an hour of each day light on. This is not bad at all exchanging with its convenient built-in LED light.

If I were to choose between new Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight and Kindle Touch, both sells at the same price, I would choose the new Nook one. I love its e-Ink crisp and responsive screen, small size in the hand, and Glowlight for bedtime reading. It is also an affordable price and not hustling and annoying special offers like Amazon Kindle Touch.

If you like to buy it now for your mom for Mother’s Day, Nook Simple Touch Glowlight is a perfect gift for her. Check Barns & Noble website for availability, or visit Amazon.com.
