Should you order Livescribe Echo ?, Pulse smartpen user’s experience

As Livescribe Pulse smartpen user I like to tell you what I think about new version of Liverscribe smartpen “Echo” Is it worth your money ? First of all this is my Pulse pros & cons (I’ve been using it almost a year now).

Pulse’s Pros:

- Easy transfer your note to PC or MAC – It’s very easy just place your Livescribe Pulse smartpen into the cradle and that’s it the automatic transfer will starts !

- Great for meeting – I’ve learn that you’ll need some time to adjust your “note habit” to fit with LIvescribe such as bookmarking in the very important moments of meeting. But when you are already adapted everything is easy. It’s can help you to have “everything” in the meeting.

Pulse’s Cons:

- Very hard to find Livescribe Pulse’s notebook & ink supplier – this is very inconvenience, If you going to buy Echo maybe you should check your nearby stationary store if they have stock for Livescribe or could they order it for you. If not this issue will drive you mad with the useless 200 USD smartpen.

- Pulse’s battery life is too short - I havn’t charge my Livescribe much just when its “out of battery” symbol appears. but I think it will be very useful if one single chart can long for month ! There are several time that Pulse is turn dead while I’m using it !

- The cradle is not so convenience - Think about when you want to charge the pen you have to fine the cradle ! or you have to carry around the pen’s cradle with you for transferring how inconvenient is that ? I think If the Echo has this USB built in feature it will be great !

- Round shape Pulse make it fall of a table ! – I dropped my Pulse several times ! and every time it’s make me sad !! because you can place it on the table it will roll and falls down !

- You can heard some pen scratching on your recored note – sometimes it’s very annoy with the paper scratching sound on your meeting record.

And this is what I think about the improvepent of Livescribe Pulse on Echo.

- Standard USB to transfer your note and charging great ! it’s easier you can plugged it with standard cable but is it any better if you can have built-in USB in your Livescribe Echo ?

- Not so round shape yey ! no more heart attack on smartpen falls down issue.

I think Echo is pretty much similar to its ancestor Pulse with a little improvement. If you are looking for smartpen that will help you to record while you write this is  your only choice ! maybe before you are buying it you might want to check my hugh research on Livescribe Pulse and other smartpen.

Livescribe has released their new model of Livescribe called “Echo” with 4GB. So, what is the difference between new Pulse Livescribe Echo Smartpen and the old ones ?

Firstly the color of Echo Smartpen is changed from silver to black and sleeker design which I think it’s cooler – Yeah we can have very cool gadget with cool design. Secondly, new 3.5 headphone jack which allowed you to use your own earbud (Previously you cannot use other earbud, except from Livescribe) and micro USB port – no need for cradle any more ! If you are looking for Livescribe Pulse smartpen As the same price as the previous model why don’t get a new ones ?

The difference between Logitech io2 Digital Writing System and Livescribe pulse smartpen.

- You can use a Livescribe Pulse smartpen to record a sound while you are writing or Drawing and While Logitech io2 Digital Writing System cannot doesn’t have a sound record feature.

Hmm this is a very old pen it has been released since 2004 (6 years ago) Oh ! But its price has been drop for 56% now. So, it’s a good chance. I have been searching for some customer reviews about this pen and this is the summary that I think maybe you guys woyld like to know how this PaperShow smartpen works.

The PaperShow smartpen is not for note taking – it’s for presentations. Similar to other digital scribes nowadays you can write on a paper and your writing will be display on computer screen at the same time. Because there are several types of digital pen. which has a different functions with and different price. There are a lot of people who buy a very expensive digital pen but use a few of its functions. In this posting I would like to show some basic types of digital pen which I believe it will help someone who is going to buy a digital pen. Mobile digital scribe : This is type of a digital pen that you use it as a normal pen. Just write your notes or draw some pictures then transfer your note into your computer by using usb. and then it will convert your note into typing document if you like. Pretty easy, all you need to do while you writing is clip your pen’s wireless data transfer clip with your normal notebook. So to use this Mobile digital scribe It means you have to carry your digital pen + pen’s wireless data transfer clip with you all the time. I think this Mobile digital scribe is perfect for someone who intend to use their digital pen for drawing purpose like artist or designer who like to do a quick sketch. Because you can write it on every surface and no limit of paper to use. I think this is an interesting choice. This Smartpen is perfect for The multi-tasker – journalist, academic, student anyone who have to write and listen at the same time and would like to use Smartpen as a tablet PC replacement. Memo pad: Actually Most of functions of Memo pad is similar to Mobile digital scribe But instead of using clip. They are using pad. So, I think people who might use this Memo is someone who works in the office. walking around write something all the time. Maybe doctor, site inspector, secretary will love this.
