I know how great Nook Simple Touch Reader can be. It’s 6 inch E-ink pearl with touchscreen and Wi-Fi feature. But there are two important features that Nook Simple Touch Reader missed and Kindle 3 can offers. (Which I think this will impacted on worldwide selling on Nook, but I think Nook’s major market is in the U.S. besides of global shipping).

First of all, Text-To-Speech feature or Read-To-Me feature. I think that this is a function that most people don’t use. I am also the one who rarely use it with my Kindle DX Graphite and also my girlfriend who tends to spend a lot of time in bus traveling to her workplace also ignore this Kindle 3′s one of the best feature. I think that is the reason why B&N decides to cut this feature out from their 2nd generation ebook reader. But actually there is a plus side of Text To Speech feature. Disabled and elder can use this feature in order to accommodate their reading and I think disabled and elder are one of the Kindle 3′s target group. 2nd generation Nook will lose these buyers.

Second of all,  a free 3G Global wireless feature. This is one of a very convenient function. I know a lot of people who use their Kindle 3 as a quick chat gadget via Twitter while hitting the road. And also for quick email checking. I know, due to Kindle 3 keyboard it may not as good as on screen keyboard of Simple Touch Reader. But it is one of a gimmick that makes people love Kindle 3. And also with a lack of 3G on B&N reader buy rely on Wi-Fi only, Nook cuts a chance for ebook selling over their free online network. As a user, I think a free 3G is one of a essential feature that ebook reader from a major online book store should offers.

So, if you are thinking about getting one of ebook reader and still wander around these two ebook readers. Here is my suggestion : Simple Touch Reader comes with a great deal with touchscreen which we are waiting for that for a long long time (But in contrast, Sony Touch edition offered this feature long time ago, isn’t it ?). If you getting the Simple Touch Reader. I think it’s one of a smart choice. But if you can wait. Amazon Kindle 4 or as known as Amazon tablet is almost arrive. Waiting for which is a best deal, perhaps is the best idea ?

Reading from the lcd screen experience, Should you buy tablet to use as ebook reader ?

I’ve bought IPad for a while and most of the time, I use it as my ebook reader and I am also the Kindle DX graphite owner. So today i would like to share my ebook reader tablet experience. I think perhpas this could be useful to anyone who is thinking about getting one of the ebook reader and still in the decision road. Between the full led screen tablet ebook reader and e-ink screen ebook reader.

I have spend around 3-5 hours aday infront of my lcd computer screen and around 3-4 hours on my ipad to watch video from youtube and PDF magazine on iBooks. I think it’s not healthy with your eyes. After been using it for a while. I start to see blurry picture at night. I think it is because of spending too much time on Ipad which has not been happended with me before when i read from my Kind DX Graphite.

I didn’t say Ipad tablet is not good for ebook reader. It dose a very great job on e-magazine and web feeding but before buying it. You may think about how long you spend on ebook reader. If it’s more than 2 or 3 hours per day, E-ink ebook readers like Kindle DX graphite or Nook are more easier on your eyes and for me, the native e-ink ebook reader can give me more sense of relaxatio. I think becasue of the diffrent interface design. Sometimes tablets is too crowed with the multiple layers of data. But with the Kindle. I feel no need to hurry.

If it possible, owning both of them ipad and Kindle can fullfil your different need of eboo reader. But if you have to choose between these two. Consideration about how much time you will spend per day for this device could help you to get your best ebook reader.

Tablet is not netbook as well as ebook reader

After I’ve using tablet for a while, I found that tablet is not netbook or Macbook Air. It was designed to be the new type of media reader tool not another version of multitouch netbook nor long term e-reader. In term of typing, it was design to use for short communication such as for email replying or social network status update. So if you have plan to buy IPad, Samsung Galaxy tab, or Viewsonic viewpad or any tablets to use as mobility netbook. You will regret it ! It won’t succeed you.

As well as ebook reader, with the color screen and weigh. Tablet cannot use as long term ebook reader. It’s screen is not that friendly with your eyes compared with e-ink screen. (But It’s ok to read from it around one or one and a half hour per day). And it’s so heavy compared with most of the ebook readers in the market right now.

An Empty Room with Your Items : A list of a Few Items in Your New Room.

If you have a new vacant room for entertaining or as living space, what sort of items would you put them in there? Good thing about empty room is nothing in there, nothing. So what and how would you start with?

Imagine your room with white painted, on the left hand side, a small long side table sits against the wall. On the top, it is placed with a cool and stylish BeoSound 8 by Band- Olusen, imaging a great sound and design in the empty room. BeoSound is docked for, iPod4 nano, iPhone, and a new iPad. One cool dock speaker is enough for the room and its quality sound would do a great work. ……What would it be near this dock?…I believe it needs no longer book shelf as well as physical books. The ideal item to replace them is eBook readers, Amazon Kindle, Apply iPad, Barnes & Noble Nook, Kobo, Pocket Edge and a lot more to come next year. The chosen ones are Kindle 3 from Amazon. It is daily use because we do have to read the world and experience it literally. iPad is the second chosen one. The difference between iPad and Kindle is  that iPad is in color. This iPad then could replace magazines and it will be used for social network connecting. Kindle 3 one will be used for reading books and PDFs only.

On the middle wall, it will be hung with 3D LED TV Panasonic VIERA TC-P50GT25 (50 inch), The more the bigger HDTV Screen is, the better entertaining. To make I feel I live in a big and modern room, it is important,for the architecturally point of view, that HDTV needs to float from the floor.  Up to this point, I think this room is getting better.

Planing to not having many items or gadgets in the room, what should they be more on the  right side of the room? Hmm……. a small pantry might be great. Since I plan to watch a lot of Blu-ray movies and TV American series, placing a small lavish counter on the right can served the needs. On the top of the counter, it will be placed with K-Cups Keurig Coffee Brewer and Keurig Carousal stand. Anytime I want hot or ice coffee, and juice, I can have them straight away. Adding some stacks would also be nice.

It is time to have a big of sofa in the middle of the room and a coffee table to place a cup of coffee. In my imaginary, I do not know  what coffee table going to look like but it would be nice if I could could bring some natural atmosphere  to the room which is full of gadgets. Maybe, I could have an aquarium fish task as a coffee table. Good idea!! at least I could rest my eyes and feed those gold fish.

That all could be enough for a perfect entertaining room filled in with splendid gadgets and enjoyable items.

I think Kindle 3 has a very positive review from the critics and also make a very hugh impact on the ebook reader market. But instead of Kindle 3, Nook has its place on Time’s top 10 gadgets of the year list. Perhaps we are heading to the color tablet era. E-ink ebook reader make no excitement anymore or maybe Time’s reviewer is too obsessed with the Touchscreen tablet ?

So what my opinion about this ? I still not see the advantage on buying color ebook reader. If you are really into color multitouch and multifunction LCD tablet, I think IPad, Samsung Galaxy or 2 dual screen Toshiba Libretto are quite more a choice than color ebook reader. I still believe e-ink screen can gives reader more pressure reading experience. What do you think ? Which one is better, Color ebook reader or old fashioned E-ink ebook reader ?

Kindle 3 vs IPod touch 4G as ebook reader, Which one to buy ?

If you are looking for your perfect ebook reader and have been stuck between IPod touch 4G (with Kindle app) and Kindle 3. Today I like to show you my thoughts about the comparison between these two greatest devices of all time (both of them have been voted for five star rating electronic device). Here we go.

Kindle 3 vs IPod touch 4G

- Kindle 3 has perfect e-ink screen for reading while with IPod touch 4G LCD screen might not comfortable as Kindle 3 but IPod touch 4G’s back lid light allows you to read in the dark while with Kindle 3,you will need to buy extra reading light or lighted cover. (Don’t underestimate the power of in-bed-reading. I finished one of shopaholic series in my bed. with out light!) and IPod touch 4G’s screen is created eye strain and glare.

- Kindle 3 is coming in very light weight and very compact size if compared with other ebook readers but still, IPod touch 4G is lighter, sleeker, and thinner. (Some girls might found Kindle 3 is heavier than they’ve expected)

- You cannot read Kindle magazine by using your Kindle application on your IPod touch 4G which is very cheap while with your Kindle 3, Kindle magazine will send to you wirelessly before it hits the bookstand.

- No 3G on IPod touch 4G. While with Kindle 3 , Amazon offers free 3G global wireless with improved web browser.

- Kindle 3 is more considerable as PDF reader than IPod touch. It has too small screen. But if your plan is just looking for novel reader. Ipod touch 4G is fine.

If you are the casual reader : looking for light weight ebook reader and most of your reading is no-need-for-picture text based material, and no interesting in Magazine reading. and totally ok with read with LCD screen. I think you will love new IPod touch 4G.
