Black Friday Comparison ; Kindle 3 WiFi+3G VS. Kindle DX.

I believe that Kindle eReader is finest device as I myself have been using mostly every day. Apart from basic features and colours which we all have seen, what other issues make these 3 siblings different that will you to decide what Kindle is for you. I list the points I think it is relevant here;

Where  Kindle DX lose to Kindle 3 WiFi+3G

1. Kindle Dx does not have WiFi, only have 3G wireless.

2. The price are 2 times more than Kindle 3 WiFi + 3G.

3. Battery life is shorter than Kindle 3 both WiFi and 3G. When battery of wireless off is last only 2-3 weeks and when it is on , it lasts 7 days. For Kindle 3 3G, battery off is last for a month but when it is on, it is for 3 weeks (Kindle 3 WiFi) and for 10 days (Kindle 3 3G).

4. More heavy because it is bigger. It weights 2 times more. Kindle 3 weighs 10.2 ounces less.

5. Kindle 3 has advanced PDF features ; adding highlight, Look-up words in the dictionary, adding note, and adjusting contrast on the texts.

6. Supporting other languages, Cyrillic, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean characters, and latin and Greek scripts for particular files.

7. Kindle DX has only Page turn buttons on one side (right) while Kindle 3 has both side which makes easier to use.

Differences Opinions : Some say having new nav controller on Kindle 3 is better than 5-way nav wheel on the DX. And the Keyboard on Kindle 3 is much easier to use (just some preferences. It is all up to you.)

Where Kindle 3 WiFi+3G lose to Kindle DX

1. Good for Comic books. The text in the bubble will be large enough to read like a normal size of comic paper books or magazines

2. Screen resolution (in Pixels). They all are with 16 gray Shades but Kindle DX is 825×1200. Kindle 3G and WiFi is 600×800.

3. Bigger in body size with 9.7″  and Kindle DX is 3.7″ larger screen size although  the capability of  carrying  3,500 book 4GB is the same to all Kindle.

4. With larger screen of Kindle Dx, it is better for PDF viewing and larger font sizes.

5.  Auto-rotated screen while Kindle 3 WiFi+3G is manual.

IPad’s e-magazine reading video demo

I think one of the IPad’s main feature that a lot of people are planing to use is “iBook”. Using an IPad as e-book reader. And one of  this iBook application’s killer feature is e-magazine. As you know that you can use Amazon Kindle as an magazine reader but with the limitation of e-ink screen reader as Kindle, Reading e-magazine from Kindle is not much as good a real color printed magazine. But with the full color screen like IPad, reading magazine in digital format might not a bad idea. And with the integrating with flash or interactive format. Maybe Magazine will come back to life again with IPad. Here is a demo video that will let you get some ideas about reading e-magazine from color screen media tablet like IPad.

netTabs: smaller than a notebook but bigger than a phone

Yes, it is heading to tablet market soon. This ‘net tablet PC’ is based on Window 7, which is expected to be priced between $400-800, measure about 8″x5″ and weigh less than 500g (although smaller and a bit heavier that Kindle Dx). Surely, it features can support Wi-Fi and mobile access, and other functions.

It is also expected to be used as a e-reading books which will be more advantageous than a Kindle because it is absolutely more colorful and has ability to display video.

Read It Out Loud : A Concern for a Blind Community ? from Amazon’s Kindle

It probably is a good news for blind people and less ability. By next summer, Amazon.com Inc. may launch two new features adding to the Kindle e-book reader in order to  make the gadget more accessible to blind and vision impaired users. The kindle will be able to speak menu options “out loud” and the size of the text will an “extra-large” for impaired vision people.

With adding new features, the market of Kindle e-reader will be definitely increased covering those who have less capabilities of seeing and hearing. Moreover, the gadget may help to improve developing skills in schooling.

However, the new version may be a great impact on audio books. Let’s see until the next summer how it is gonna look like? and how it will function?

Can you use a Hp DreamScreen as an ebook-reader ?

After around an hour spend, Searching for a possibility to use an Hp DreamScreen as an ebook-reader. I have been looking through several websites including HP Total Care Support website. And the answer is …. No !
Sorry guys, a DreamScreen is not that dreamy. The closet function that be similar with an E-book reader is Internet services (with a limited function) – you can use Hp DreamScreen to access to Weather, Facebook, Pandora (Online radio station), and Snapfish photo sharing.

I think if you want an E-book reader in a form of tablet computer maybe you have to wait for a mactablet or go for a real E-book reader like Kindle Dx or Sony Touch edition. or maybe Nook
