Nook, Kindle, and Sony daily edition side by side review video. Who is the winner ?

This is a great review video for some one who looking for the difference between this three leading e-book reader.

For the wireless book buying : In my opinion I think the touchscreen in Nook and Sony daily edition are great – very easy to use. While with Kindle it seems a little bit harder to control. and the mini color screen of Nook is very tempting ! Even it is not for reading, But I think this color screen make the online purchase look more easier.

For the reading : I think Kindle and Sony daily edition faster than Nook on books loading. But as you see, The Sony daily edition has a great big screen (In this review video is Kindle 2 not a DX). See it yourself and please tell me what do you think ?

Why Nook, Kindle and Sony e-reader still stay on b&w screen?

Why e-reader has to be B&W instead of color ?

(even nook has been added a colorful touchscreen but a reading area still B&W)

The answer is : The e-ink is for mimic real printed pages. but the color screens will causing eye strain.

It is against your eyes. That’s why most of e-readers still stay with B&W.

But in the next April Fujitsu’s Flepia the first color e-reader will be ship with this features.

- 8″ screen with 260,000 colors display, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a mini USB port and touch screen with stylus.

- 40 hours battery life. and the price is more than USD 1000 !

B&W is not so bad now, isn’t it ?

Google e-reader, the giant feet will be dominating Amazon’s Kindle, Nook, and Apple tablet.

In the first half of next year, the web search giant, Google, will launch an online store to deliver e-books, which any device, PCs, laptops, and smartphones like iPhone or even ipod touch, Sony digital reader can be used with.

Not surprise, if Google will make an e-reader more solid and productive. This will absolutely impact to the top US bookseller Barnes & Noble and big bookseller worldwide Amazon.

The question is that if all e-reader devices have to get accessed through Internet for using, then why we need to purchase these devices. Google is very smart to open an online store after seeing the fast-growing e-reader market during a few year.

With sources in hand of Google search engine, I believe many users who use small laptops or Mac tablet may hesitate to buy Kindle or Nook. It might be redundant whereas these e-reader devices demonstrate the similar result to reading online. Why we need many tools when only one tools can do all.

Less is More.

Kindle DX is Rising while Nook is Falling down !

B&N is giving $100 gift certificates to buyers who placed orders for a Nook to be delivered before the Christmas but says that some won’t arrive on time ! Meanwhile, Amazon is offers 2-days shipping with a guaranteed arrival by Christmas Eve. If you order it before 22 December.  Who’s gonna win this e-reader war ?

Can you use a Hp DreamScreen as an ebook-reader ?

After around an hour spend, Searching for a possibility to use an Hp DreamScreen as an ebook-reader. I have been looking through several websites including HP Total Care Support website. And the answer is …. No !
Sorry guys, a DreamScreen is not that dreamy. The closet function that be similar with an E-book reader is Internet services (with a limited function) – you can use Hp DreamScreen to access to Weather, Facebook, Pandora (Online radio station), and Snapfish photo sharing.

I think if you want an E-book reader in a form of tablet computer maybe you have to wait for a mactablet or go for a real E-book reader like Kindle Dx or Sony Touch edition. or maybe Nook

Kindle DX vs. Nook: who’s win, who’s lose ?

Nook from B&N has been released for a while, can it beat the king of e-reader market Kindle DX ?

Nook is coming with a multi-touch keyboard, 6″ color touch screen, mp3 player, built-in 2 gb with expandable memory through SD card slot.

and of course – wireless features that allow you to rent or buy a book from B&N website. You can share your reading with other Nooks or even better Ipod touch or Iphone as well ! wow wow.

Nook is now 259 USD for Pre-order from B&N website.Order by 12/20 to enjoy FREE shipping in time for Christmas! See site for details. Here is Nook video.

Kindle DX (U.S. edition) is coming with 9.7″ display 16 shades of gray scale screen which Amazon calls it e-ink screen, PDF supported, auto rotating screen, 3G wireless for e-book buying from kindle store,

Similar to Nook, you can listen to mp3 while you are reading from built-in speaker, sharing your reading with PC, Iphone, Ipod touch, and in the future Mac & Blackberry. Kindle Dx price has been set for 259 USD for 6″ International Kindle and 489 USD for 9.7 ” U.S. version.

Here is Kindle video.

For me, it seems that Killer features for Nook is a color screen, multitouch keyboard and modern – friendly look design when one and only killer feature from amazon’s Kindle DX is very big big 9.7″ screen. So you have to make a decision. Do you like to read from small modern screen e-book reader “Nook” or huge old fashion e-book reader “Kindle”?

In the barnes & noble website, you will see a comparison table between Nook and 2nd generation Amazon Kindle.

Of course, Nook has beaten Kindle ! but is it still the same result if we compare a Nook with a Kindle DX ? Find out the answer in next post. Thanks for reading.
